I'm also corn fused about the para caps. I think I see where but I'm not saying because I don't want to be stupid.

:)

(and my opinion R7 should be 33k-56k and 68k is end of the line because man, that's just too insane)

Yes, that second 2n2 fattens up the low end significantly. May be too much for some or just right for others; season to taste. Apparently, Ken was (fond?) of mixing dielectrics there, hence the Mallory PVC 2n2 polyester in parallel with a 2n2 ceramic cap. The 150k to ground grid leak can and should be adjusted by ear. Martin used a trimmer there on his modified layout Express. Reeltarded notes that 33-68k is a great place to be with his Liverpool.

Something I never asked you, Roe. What guitars are you playing through your monsters?

Who makes the replica that you use?

Do you use old Gretsch guitars or new ones?

Wow, that white penguin is super-rare. I only have a Malcolm Young Gretsch with tvclassics. Its good but the neck is a little difficult.

I have quite a few of the high end tokais, the permium series, that are hard to find (LS320 etc). And I have 1974 Burny FB120 firebird V replica and a nice es175 (made by the obscure Shiro factory). For fenders style guitars I prefer partscasters (and the EJ strat). I also keep a hamer singlecut korina special and PRS DGT.

I love love the 70s Ibanez stuff. I bought an Artwood Twin last year to tie up the money. Hard to untie the money now. :/ oops

yes, the old ibanez stuff is excellent. I tried several 70s es175s by ibanez that were almost identical to my shiro es175. The early burny stuff is also very good. I have sold all my gibsons and keept a PRS, Fender, Collings and Gretsch (and an Epiphone!)
