Train wreck models

Post by guy comeau »

Hi new to "The Amp Garage". This is a great forum. It's my long time dream to build a tube amp. The Train wreck looks like the project I want to build. How many different models of the Train Wreck is there. I've down loaded schamatics some have different mods. I would like pictures that belong to the same schamatics for my first build. Thank you.

You need to go here and review the layouts and schematics and download Ron Worley's build guide.

Express has two EL34 power tubes and can also use two 6V6

Liverpool has four EL84 power tubes and is solid state rectified

Rocket has four EL84 power tubes and uses tube rectifier

really appreciate the response, very helpful. Where does a person order parts for this build? I don't have any experience in amp builds. Is it recomended I do a kit first or jump right in and go for the "trainwreck". In more ways than one.

Well the owner of this forum allynmey can be reached by pm or review his profile for email and website. He has what I would call a very good clone type of chassis and as far as I know does sell kits as well as builds great clones.

http://www.rjguitars.net/ sells what I will call one chassis that is very good clone type of chassis and others that offer the modern IEC power plug.

Both of these guys can steer you down a path of Trainwreck heaven.
