That would be "amps" plural, and I am not a liberty to post said information, as I am under an gentleman's agreement not to do so.

I'd say "Trust me", but you seem aggressive enough to not believe me. Your choice.

"Aggressive", Ron? C'mon. I think I'm being pretty reasonable in asking for the name of the amp, its tube complement, and voltages. If you have a "gentleman's agreement not to publish gut shots, that's fine. Everything else should certainly be good to go.

Until I see otherwise, I'll remain skeptical (not to be confused with "aggressive") that we have a real "document" regarding the power supply of a Rocket.

Thank you for your contributions.

Is the wiring of the EQ section correct in the schematic?

Zippy, I can tell you without any hesitation that the drawing at the beginning of the thread is correctly laid out. That goes for the power section too. I helped Ron and Dr Hulsey with any technical questions they had regarding the Rocket. I have seen two "actual" Rockets gutshots and not just one each! I have had access to full pictures of the Rockets and discussed in detail each componet and source with the owners. I still have access to them. I cannot post any pics as I was asked not to. I will however, be finished with a replica that I will post pictures of and then you will have your pics. This is authentic down to the perf board and layout. In the past I have been "in" many Trainwrecks whether it is by picture or by my own hands. I then made copies of the amps and posted pictures. The pictures of my amps that I have posted are not just to show off every amp I've built rather, it is a surregate "gutshot" of the amp I copied. This way I don't violate any confidence and the community gets to "see" the inside of what a "real" wreck looks like.

Here's an alternate version for smaller p/s caps; Xicon, Nichicon, F&T, etc.

Rocket A0 fuse location

Post by Macshaft »

I believe the A.C. fuse should be on the "hot" side of the transformer , not on the white "neutral" . If the fuse blows , you could still have 120VAC to ground and get zapped playing around in there .

Here's the Rocket's Voltage Chart for use in initial power up.

How about a filled in voltage chart, or voltages on the scheme?

Dan-

I haven't finished my LP yet, so I have nothing, same for the Rocket....

But I figured that this should be helpful nonetheless..

Has anyone noticed this discrepancy between the layout and the schematic, or am I looking at the wrong version of something?

Schematic:
V4 > R19
V5 > R20
V6 > R21
V7 > R22

On the layout the values are reversed:
V4 > R22
V5 > R21
V6 > R20
V7 > R19

Obviously, it's electrically immaterial, but I will check it out and correct if it's backward..... it very likely that you are right!!
