Dumbleland Overdrive Special!!!

Post by FuzzFaceBuilder »

Hey all,

I was digging around online and came across this photo of what appears to be a Goldface Dumbleland Overdrive Special!

Cant make out the transformers in the photo but it looks like 6550/kt88's and a 12AU7/12BH7 setup in the PI (tall noval cover).

As an aside, I'm loving the look of the early 4x12 cabs with the metal side trim too! Looks like the Dumbleland #009 and Odyssey Bass cabs!

Digging it!

Interesting, Single "drive" pot like on the 1st gen? Starve and accent? No tone expanders?

What mag is that?

I believe it's an "Accent" and a "Manual/Pedal" for OD access.

Edit: corrected myself.

Are those switches above the treble, bass, and overdrive knobs?

Bringing this back...

Does anyone know anything about this Dumbleland Overdrive Special? I've never seen a goldface Dumble before... Nor have I seen this amp before (with the title "Dumbleland" Overdrive Special).

Is this more a Dumbleland or and ODS? And did Dumble make any more that you know of? Also, did he make any other goldface amps? I just know the silver face and black face...

Just found one more gold-face... David Lindley has 2 gold-face Overdrive Specials...

Still, seems very out of the ordinary for HAD. Have you seen any others? Any story behind this "Dumbleland Overdrive Special"?

Hi Max, how are you?

This was posted today already. I forgot there was a thread about this amp already, thanks for consolidating it.
