I'm me...
Andy Fuchs, I own and operate Fuchs Audio technology with my wife. I also do design work and consulting to other manufacturers for amp and pedal designs as well as OEM manufacturing for a few other companies.
Not here as often as in the past, but I do poke in from time to time.

I'm nobody but enjoy building amps.
Tried to start Snooty Amps, then Fowler Amplification and then Fowler Valve Amps (FVA) but gave up and just enjoy the grandkids now days.
I work with my buddies at Tone Syndicate in Fargo, ND as needed.

Re: Who is who?
I'm just a guy that has built two Dumble like amps.
A 50w and a 100w + Dumbleator.
I have built two other amps that are collecting dust.
I have learned so much on this forum.
Not only about Dumbles but just general tube theory which I lacked before coming here.
Great camaraderie and great people that share a whole lot.
Guys and gal that are willing to help just about anybody.

Re: Who is who?
Hi Bruce,
Tony Dorris here, I own/run Volition Amps. We build amps, pedals and pickups. We also do a lot of repairs for the locals and a locally owned music store. Been rebuilding Altec mic preamps on a regular basis here lately. I don't mean to sound as if we are big time like some of the big builders here. Nothing too exciting goin on here, except maybe our new pups... Gettin really great reviews.
Glad to see you post here! Glad to see just about everyone's posts here. There are some great builders here. Lots of great info.

I am an advanced beginner amp builder and repair person. Over the past four years I have built about two dozen amps from scratch, and repaired several dozen. I recently became a registered "repair station" for the local Guitar Center. None of this would have been possible without the support of this AWESOME community, right heah. Cheers!
I build and repair tube amps. http://amps.monkeymatic.com

Sheesh, you make that sound like a bad thing. Consider it an homage.xtian wrote:^^^ PLAGIARIST! ^^^

Hi Bruce - Henry Heistand owner, designer, floor sweeper, parts stocker, shipping manager, cork sniffing wanker and former builder at RedPlateAmps (found some guys who build better than I did). Retired from all things amps in '92 but this forum dragged me back in.

Re: Who is who?
Hi Bruce! i am neal, a nobody, have two certificates in electronics, soon to be A.S. degrees. i like making my own stuff in general and i actually really enjoy 'figuring' out how to use salvaged iron, instead of buying new production. not for any mojo, mostly budget and a challenge so i can learn more.
i work as a bench technician repairing the circuit boards for industrial battery chargers, like for electric vehicles, pallet jacks, forklifts, boats etc. basically the complete opposite of an audio amplifier 'low' voltage, but crazy amperage, like 72 Vdc at 20 amps, those are the small ones, hahaha
so, while i have a pretty good grasp of SS circuits, this forum has helped me out SOO much with tube theory, nothing like that was even touched on in school. maybe i will build a MusicMan hybrid style one day, but with work and school i have very little time on my hands lotsa idears, need to start writing things down!
welcome to TAG, *almost every person here is genuine, kind, intelligent and helpful!
respectfully insignificant,
neal
