Funktion of the Rock/Jazz switch ?

Post by kaj »

Hi!
Do I understand this right, that the Rock/Jazz switch when in Rock position will bypass the tonestack ??
Schematic "The Amp Garage OVERDRIVE REVERB SPECIAL #13"
And it is the same on other ODS schematics.
Cheers

No. The R/J switch changes the risistor/capacitor network of the tonestack. The effect is a more hifi balanced sound and a significant loss of volume when the jazz mode is engaged.
The switch (relay) that bypasses the tonestack is called "preamp boost" (PAB) and it is omited in your schematic.

Very nice of you to ask, on my build the tonestack seems to be bypassed when the switch is in the ROCK possition. I just have to go thru my wiering /schematic.
I will return when I find the fault.
Thanks fore your interrest.

Sounds like a problem with your PAB switch or relay.
