That sounds like a good plan, with the fan blowing parallel to the front panel in the direction of the power section to avoid any direct impingement of air on the power tubes.

yes it does, it's running a B+ of 500V
Thought so. I think Dumble mounted his fans on the bottom of his head cabs IIRC

If I’m running combos in the studio for any length of time, I turn them on their head.

I used to have the same trouble when I used my Two Rock Crystal 40 combo.

I did this with my #004 clone and used this 120v muffin fan. https://amzn.to/3cI77Hs The picture is of the real SSS #004 by Dumble

The fan is super quiet and when it's on the whole time, my front and rear panel are barely warm. (55% bias 4x 6l6gc 100w)

yes , that's the picture I remember now. :D I don't know if I can be bothered to cut out a hole like this now it's all covered. I wonder if it's pulling air out or sucking cool in? I would suspect as hot air rises it's pulling cool in.

@TroyBoy , that's a good idea with a combo. just ned some extra feet or something so it's not on the handle.

I still haven't done anything about this yet :D I have a fan already to go. I 'm going to velcro it in if I do go down this route.

Hello -

Certainly best pushing air out. Creates flow of cool(er) ambient air into and around that highly heated electronics.

Best .. Ian
