You would think that Joe could afford a quad of 6L's a little better than the JJ's in his Dumble
Sacrilege.
OK Let the flames begin!.. Bring it.

I presume they're replacing the Altec with his Celestion JB speaker, basically a re-badged Classic Lead 80. A great speaker I must say. Mind you 100w amp 80w speaker could be trouble. Does it have a 100/50w switch?

edit: yes it does :D

Interesting he's no longer soldering the coax braids to the back of the pots, he' s now twisting and sleeving and soldering to the bus bar.

In Joe's latest rig rundown, he says both combos had speaker changes to the Celestion JB.

Tony, I'm building a guy a 102 right now and have a quad of JJs for it because Robben uses them

Your customer is lucky Robben is no longer running the Solvteks....I guess...
One thing I will say about the JJ's is they are a tough ass tube. But can you make them any more Sterile? They remind me more of a lowered powered version of a 6550 or an STR-440 than a "Classic" 6L sound.

Indeed, they are tough! I tried to kill some JJ 6V6Ss running 460V but they wouldn't die. I'll see how those 6L6s sound in this amp and swap them out if they're awful.

Yes. I remember that amp. I did a recap on it. Those blue Spragues is the serviced I did. The original orange Sprague filter caps had bubbles. I have a file full of the pictures of that amp.

This amp is pretty well documented but more pics are always welcome (Especially the tonestack) and Presence supply.
Thanks

I’d be keen for some voltage readings.

Thanks,
