Changing the OD Input coupling cap to lower value on ODS to tighten it up

Post by Ray Barbee »

Anyone messed with various cap values to tighten up the low end on a ODS (Assuming you like some bass in your clean tone)? What cap value did you end up with? On my HRD mod I had to drop it all the way to 500pf to get it tight, but I think that might suck too much fatness out of the ODS.

at the input to the V2a put 4n7, and after V2a to the drive pot you can put 2n2-4.7uF polypropylene to tighten the bass. you can stop with lowering when you loose "farting" effect in the overdrive.

Not sure where I got this one:
ODS_Notes.pdf
and I may have changed the name of the file at some point but you might well be interested in reading it.
