yes, just remove the ground from the left lug, ground the middle lug through the 1 uf, and the first lug through the 390r

Yes it really does help it to work better.

Scotty is correct. The D'Lite presence control is not the correct way to wire a Dumble.

Ya know, sometimes I feel like I hit a bad note on a recording. Everytime someone plays the tune, they point out that I f'ed up again.
That fact that my little project became a "standard" still baffles me, however. I wonder if Steve Aloia cringes everytime someone points out the the hybrid-a has mistakes in it.

As Scott said, most Brown Note production amps are based on "classic" Dumble circuits. Layouts, iron, and options are different, but the basics never stray too far from proven designs.

I'm going to try the dumble way at my gig tonight just to see what the difference will be.

I wired mine the other way, instead of the 3rd leg left unterminated I connected it to the wiper.

Ok I just tried the correct way and I like the D'lite way better. Its a little more compressed but to be honest, its not that big of a difference.

Remember that Norm scaled the entire PS section when he went to 2x 6V6.

His tweaks were needed to make it sound good.

I ended up using my express clone last night and it sounded incredible. Not a blues amp but it sounded great for the classic rock.

Nice looking build leleduke!

BTW, you have the 24K(?) resistor going from the .1uf to the input of the PI and not to the resistor network. I noticed this in a previous build of yours and then it was changed to accept the coax(?) from the power amp in jack.

Cheers, Paul.
