Re: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know Part II
I guess it's been established that the preamp on this amp seems to be a low plate classic. Does anyone have an opinion or educated guess on what the preamp cap values are? (mid, bass, treb, clean2 coupler, OD couplers, PI, grid.)
I'm considering converting an amp that would be great for slide playing.

I attached what I've got thus far (also attached is a Visio File). Still working on it. Will post updates as I make them.

Re: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know Part II
Seeing this thread made me pull out the Let's Have a Ball bootleg. I've mentioned to Tony before that I would love to do one of these. Maybe now is the time. Anyone interested in a chassis?

If there is enough interest, I , can draw up a chassis in solidworks and get a quote.

Re: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know Part II
I might be down for one too. Maybe change the Power supply a bit (and not use can caps ). Maybe order a small batch of these Pwr trafo's with an Extra 12v Relay Tap?

Re: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know Part II
Greg, I was thinking sans the cap cans as well. I also was thinking along the lines of a custom Vibrolux(same as D'lite) PT to maximize space. I haven't looked at my docs, but off the top of my head I think this is close to the last max effort Vibrolux style PT that I ordered from Heyboer. This will easily support 50W and 4-5(loop) preamp tubes.boldaslove6789 wrote:I might be down for one too. Maybe change the Power supply a bit (and not use can caps ). 335-0-50-335@300mA
6.3V@700mA
3.15-0-3.15 @ 5A
Revised this would allow one to try just about any duet of pwr tube, use filament resistors and still offer plenty of current for either style of relay supply.
335-0-50-335@300mA
6.3V@375mA
6.3V @ 5.5A

I would use one of the JJ multistage cans..These are good sounding caps..Greg, I was thinking sans the cap cans

Greg If you want it I have the Visio Macro of the JJ somewhere..Layout looks almost as good as one of mine..

Sure Tony that'd be great, (E-mail me).
I'll try and finish this layout of the actual amp and then I'll make a revised layout with a more "Modern" Pwr supply.
Anybody have a schematic and/or the Pot Values of the borderline? Gil? Bueler...?

Greg Here it is..Let me know if you need anything further.. For starters I would use the low plate classic layout for the stack...I'll look over some more shots of it tonight..
Good Luck young grasshopper..
