John Mayer live on Ellen, first TV appearance since his throat troubles.

Playing "Something Like Olivia" through Dumble SSS 002 and a Two-Rock JM Sig, he is playing a white strat but not one of his signature models. Not sure which overdrive he kicks on for the solos. Looks like a new/different 2x12 with vox grille under the Two-Rock?

Video is available in 720p!

Another lap steel video

This is my son playing through my Overdrive Special through a Palmer speaker simulator direct into the computer with no EQ and just a bit of ambiance added.

Very nice lap steel pickin'! Your son is VERY lucky :)
It reminded me of this Ben Harper rendition with ODS #93 a few years back:

I understand.

It is an actual Dumble amp that I've owned since the mid 80's. It is an Overdrive Special #88 that was updated to Skyline specs by Mr. Dumble at the time that I bought it. I also have a Dumbleator that was not used for this clip. It's the clean channel turned up almost all the way.

I think it's quite a nice sounding amp personally and I am surprised that it would sound like a clone or simulation to anyone. If you know of a clone amp that can sound like this please let me know. I will buy one.

Thanks,
Jim

I see lots of posts about the previous owners of #OO4. This was my amp for many years. I bought it from a friend of Alexander's named Jeff Hein. I worked with Jeff here in Santa Cruz California. I have photos of the amp from when I had to sell if. I sold if back in 1994 or 1995 to a guy in Germany after someone broke into my house and cleaned me out. They walked right by the Dumble and stole the Fender the Musicman and a bunch of other things. I sold the Dumble to replace what was taken from me by the thieves. It is nice to see photos of the amp again. Who owns it today?
Is the amp back in the USA again? I know it sold from Maverick Music a couple years ago.

Welcome to the Amp Garage Keith.

I hate to hear stories about thieves stealing musical equipment.

Very cool that you got to own a real Dumble.

Too bad you had to sell it to recoup your losses.

Now the real Dumbles are so expensive the average musician can't afford one.

Most of us here build amps that we have a desire to play through.
