Rick Nielsen Playing Fuchs?

Post by blinddog »

Hi Andy,

I was watching Cheap Trick on Austin City Limits and I swear I saw a Fuchs logo on Rick's checkerboard amps. I was just wondering if it was your amp and if so what he is running, if you don't mind.

Thanks,

I hung out at their soundcheck here in Columbus last summer when they were playing with Squeeze. Rick said he was loving the Fuchs and he made it sound pretty darn great I must say! :) It really worked great for the CT sound.

Thanks Andy,

Yep, Rick sounded great and the band still ROCKS!

Zander's voice hasn't lost a thing either.

"Mommy's alright, Daddy's alright, they just seem a little weird, Surrender, Surrender, But don't give yourself away!!"

Now back to your regularly scheduled Dumbling.

Cue up "Runnin on Empty""

Andy

Whats up with the Fuchs Plush ODS preamp? Those You-tube clips sound pretty cool.

A few years ago I saw Cheap Trick on TV and Robin Zander sounded terrible.
I figured he just went the way of a lot of older rock stars and let himself go.
I didn't know if it was drugs and booze or just old age that got him.
His voice sounded rough and he didn't have the range anymore to hit the high notes.

But those last recordings have his voice sounding pretty darn good again and I'm glad.
They were an iconic band when they were big so it's good to see Rick and company still rockin the house.

Anyone can get a sore throat, infection, or just too many shows in a row. It's not fair to the artist to expect them to be super human.

BTW, was that Bun E Carlos on drums? Didn't look like him.
