If the Kaiser Dumble is a #3x then it would be a lot like the #33 schematic but without the tube effects loop.

You should perhaps keep in mind that the #33 schematic posted here http://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 434#186434 AFAIK might show the status quo of number #0033 after (at least) these modification that AFAIK have not been implemented by Alexander Dumble :

"So, this amp - Serial no: 033

a) An additional tube has been added between the two power tubes for an active effect loop.
b) An additional pot is added on the chassis to adjust the gain of the fet input.
c) The pots for treble, middle and bass are replaced.
d) Some capacitors in the tone circuit are altered.
e.) On the front an additional switch right of the "accent" switch is added."

So before using this #33 schematic I would recommend to make 100% sure that it really shows the same circuit as shown in Tony's 2nd generation layout: http://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12870

If you should find differences between Tony's layout and this schematic of #33 then I would recommend to use Tony's layout and not this #33 schematic. AFAIK the 2nd generation amps in the 003X serial number range and in the 004X serial number range share the same general circuit specs (some values may perhaps be different here and there in individual amps, but AFAIK not depending on the serial number range of a specimen of a 2nd generation ODS 50W). The only general difference I know of is, that in some of those amps in the #004X serial number range you'll no longer find the Columbia Flexfoam coax specified in Tony's layout but (AFAIR) a black RG-59 kind of coax similar to the coax used in the 3rd generation amps.

a friend just sent me these pics.
Dumble 044, with the typical - Applied Acoustics - cabinet.
I've been told it sold for 22.000,-EURO's... aroound $29.000,-
Enjoy
Hi everybody, been lurking here for a while - stumbled across this old posting today concerning the exact amp that still fires my interest in Dumbles.
I know this amp from the very first year - the guy who bought and played it (with an Epiphone Casino mostly) lived in my town and planted this idea in my then quite young head how an electric guitar should sound.
The original cabinet should have some dozen cigarette burn marks on top. Yup, THAT sound was huge. Loved the Altec speaker.

Anybody ever built a replica of that era (silver face, red sliding switches)?

Cheers, Frank

I've build one a while ago and still got the amp.

Really liked it for what it was (great clean and kinda raw OD) and it need some attention to sound great (knobs tweaking), a good set of NOS tubes and some volume to do its thing.
One of the best OD I heard/played. Wicked with a slide. Very old school rock.

I did use a NOS Bassman iron, some carbon comp and liked the amp with a closed back cab.

Hard to choose a PI tube between AT and AX and on my build I have an issue to balance clean and OD.
