Also forgot to mention.. The 100w JCM 800 Power transformer (CE Dist?Heybour) is a wonderful piece of iron!! :D You can generally find these for a good price which is even better!!..I wired this one w full wave bridge (although it has a CT)and gave me exactly 460 on the plates (32ma)..These transformers are dead quiet and highly recommend them especially if you are loading EL34's like say in a 183 style..I used a standard off the shelf Fender Twin 100w choke..Even with the OD/drive cranked it hardly makes a sound..
Thanks everyone for the wonderful comments..I just thought some of you might like the wood!!

Not a Dumble clone but Dumblish inspired.

Tweed Overdrive Special with FX/Reverb unit

The TOS has quilt maple for the front panel & sapele for the head wood with rosewood accent stripes

The FX/Reverb is flamed maple with crotch mahoganey front panel.

With respect, 10thtx

Awesome Tony. Actually your cab design is what impresses me the most, complex shapes way out of the ordinary.

BTW xtian asked how the lighting was done, I am interested also.

Cheers!

Sweet cabinets!

Bummer...

I just finished french polishing my black walnut twin cab for my 100watt frankendumble, just got back from a "vacation" and my son was playing with the camera and now it's busted

Amber shellac, rubbing alcohol, olive oil, and carnuba wax; sand-coat-repeat for a couple days. Still need to do the back panels and a few more coats on the foot pedal get the cleats mounted and all that fun stuff.

I'll try and get another camera tomorrow on my trip to civilization.

This is really all a matter of personal taste and IMO there are no better or worse just different..So with this being said

I personally prefer the 6L 102 match..The 34's have a mid range push to them, the 6L's provide a fuller more open bottom,as well as a sweeter mid range .34's in the 102 topology have a bit less headroom..IMO the Skyliner stack as well as the 6PS series caps already carry with them plenty of mid range character without adding to the mid range push the 34's have..Some who have the 183 circuit loaded with 34's might disagree but in regard to my personal taste I prefer the 6l's..
The amp I posted was built to handle both 6L's and 34's so when the customer arrived he wanted to hear both..He lives on the OD channel is a Marshall guy and more than likely has his ears tuned more to the 34's..He also prefers how the 34's sound with a high gain amplifier so in this regard he chose the 34's..Personal taste wins again..

When it comes down to it, I'm more of a woodworker than a hard core amp builder
