The Odyssey looks very similar an early McIntosh poweramp before they went the direct coupled route. They used a 12BH7 with 12k plate loads and a 12AU7 PI. The PI circuit isn't the same but it does have an 18k tail resistor...

I was reading that Jerry Garcia (Grateful Dead) had his amp set up with a Fender Twin Silverface (with middle control) pre amp going through a McIntosh MC2300 power amp. Sounds a bit like Dumble design, so my question is who did it first?

If I can dig it up l will post a 1956 dated schematic of a Heathkit hi-fi amp that I ran across a few years ago. It has the exact same topology and almost 100% the exact component values of the Dumble Odyssey power section, so much so that I find it truly hard to believe that it's purely a coincidence. If didn't know any better, it seems that HAD ripped the Odyssey power section directly from Heathkit amplifier kit.
