anyone tried Cold clipping third stage (in a Dumble)?


I was wandering for results

Sofar I have a Ripper (third and fourth stage like a jcm800) which sound good but not THAT GOOD

so i was wandering how to get a nice OD out of those two stage (without using the dumble OD way)

The ripper topology is a really hard circuit to make sound great yet like other known ODS topologies as this circuit hasnt really been divulged in detail yet. I think there is more going on than what's known.

Imo, I think you'd be better off cascading 1 clean preamp (skyline or classic derived) into 2 disimilar OD circuits into each other or one or the other.

Henry at Redplate does this in the Magic dust duo. With the ability to run both HRM and non-HRM OD circuits seperately, or run them in series. But with a tweed fender single tone control Clean Preamp. Pretty cool sounding and very versatile and Musical.
