Cable for Footswitch: NOW FIXED, added PICS
Hey guys can anyone tell me where I can get a 5 pin conductor cable for this DIN jack? The pin configuration is not that of a standard MIDI cable.
Thanks!

Look for "Quad Mic Cable". It has 4 conductors and a shield. Still very durable/flexable. Available from most pro-audio dealers.
Edit: I thought you were just looking for bulk cable - not a cable with ends. See IC's posts below!!!

I just went through this getting a jack for my HRM.ChrisM wrote:The pin configuration is not that of a standard MIDI cable.

Mouser should have what you need.
I think the picture shows
If you want to make it compatible with MIDI connector, you need the following:61GB5FX DIN Panel Mount Connector, 5 contacts at 240° Contact Arrangement E
If you just want the male connector the following might be the correct one:57GB5FX DIN Panel Mount Connector, 5 contacts at 180° Contact Arrangement F
12CL5MX DIN Cable Mount Connector, Male plug with ground key-rib, 5 pins at 240° pin arrangement 4

Thanks for the info.
Damn $15 for just one connector (not even the cabling). That's expensive!
I've got lots of the standard 180° MIDI plug and they are easy to get locally so maybe I'll just source out a MIDI cable and ditch these weird (but nice) jack I currently have.

I was going to mention the same thing, but after closely looking at all my pictures, it seems Dumble used the 240 degree jack on his amps.odourboy wrote:Change the jack

Ya I think I'll just change the jack.
I bought this jack because on the #124 layout it mentions this part jack and it's part number.

Be sure the MIDI cable you get has all five pins connected, as I believe some don't. Also, one may be grounded, so look out for that when you are choosing which pin does what. I bought a Hosa brand cable (which have five conductors) and just used the wire to make a fancy cable with locking connectors.

Is the plug you are planning on using made of plastic? Plastic plugs do not insert too easily after they have been stepped on. Just a thought. Jelle

Yep, some midi cables are wired 3 pins...

That is the correct one with the locking ring.
On my D'lite I just used the cheap one without the lock.
On my 100w ODS I used the more expensive locking type and it seems very secure.
I bought some bulk 6 conductor cable at a local shop, I think it was Cat-6 but it has stranded wire and a drain wire.
Works very well.

That would be wrong as #124 uses Switchcraft C5F. I missed that on the posted #124 layout, I'll try to get that changed, but I did not make the layout file.ChrisM wrote:Ya I think I'll just change the jack.

I ended up buying the Switchcraft C5F when I built my #124 as I was using the Asian ODS chassis with the C5F cutout on the back. Damn that thing was expensive. It was like $25 if I remember correctly.

The 3 switch footswitches at CE Distribution(Antique Electronics) have the cords and 5 pin plugs that fit those jacks. The boxes are resonably priced as well. 5 pins and the switches and LEDs in side are easy to rewire.
