Are you adding a mid control to your build?

I didn't add the mid pot, but it's easily doable if I decide I need it down the road. Plenty of room on the front panel.

Finished wiring (I think). Get it going tomorrow if there aren't any problems.

Looks great and neat.
Sound clips are expected :)
As for the Mid pot, I tested and found it unnecessary. You can get pretty much to the same freq. response with Bass and Treble, just requires a tad more twisting.
I used the hole I drilled to wire a Cut control, to make strat bridge pickup useable.

Excellent first impression. Gonna let it burn in for a while then try out some better tubes. The V2 plates are a little high (330V) but I can bring that down with a tube change probably. Everything else is spot on as per schematic. I'm gonna like this amp. This has been nothing like the 5B6 fiasco.

I like this amp a lot. Voiced very well right out of the box, even with "start up" tubes.

Congrats! Glad it worked for your first time.
My experience as well - worked first time and sounded great from the beginning :)
If you have any means to record some samples, it will be great.

Synchu, what kind of tubes did you use with your ''sleeping child'' build?

Russian 6P3S-E, which are 5881 substitutes (pretty much).
It sounds good with JJ6L6 as well, better with NOS 7581 and best with the 6P3S-Es, to my ears at least.

Sounds great :)

I would like to give this amp a try, but i would like some reverb, middle and contour control on it. Do you think its worth it? Or do you think that the amp is at his best like the way it is meant to be?

All of these can be easily added.
I don't find Mid control that useful, except that the tone shaping will be easier, but pretty much the same tones can be achieved by a bit more twisting Bass and Treble pots.
There are plenty of reverb circuits that can be added so this shouldn't be a problem. Since this is a clean amp, I put time based effects in front of the amp and it sounds quite good, but in-built tube based reverb always adds versatility and a bit more tonal options.
Good luck it is a great amp.

Hi Synchu, out of interest, how did you come up with the value 1k2 from the master vol into the PI? This is a very different value to the 97K indicated on the 60s schematic.
