Who has Dumble #059 now?

Post by Rob Livesey »

I saw this on another forum.

Dumble #059, 100w Overdrive Reverb, sold through Maverick Music and it appears the owner never got paid !

I've done a little more research, yes, it was John Mayer.

The Two Rock was the prototype, Serial #1, of the Signature amps.

I know John Mayer has probably got cash to spare, but still, you can't just write off $275,000. Good for him for pursuing it I say.

What would possess him to sell his prototype TR Sig? As far as I know he still uses two of them on stage at any one time, along with the SSS. Surprised he's selling the Dumble as well tbh.
How did you confirm it was him Rob?

This'll be the listing then.

John Mayer has more Dumbles than anyone, maybe he had another Overdrive Reverb he liked better, I don't know.

That's the amp there at Maverick yes. I just wonder who bought it.

There are two victims here I think, John Mayer who sold it and the guy who bought it. Phil Winfield is the man in the middle with all the cash and he didn't even show at court for the hearing.

I guess Phil Winfield might not be a victim, for all we know he could have received the amplifier and given his money to Maverick Music and the problem could just be between Maverick and JM.

I think the only way to resolve this peacefully is for them to give the money and the amplifier to me, that way everyone loses.

Except me.

Of course! But I'll be covering up select parts of the circuit with carefully placed dollar bills!

Phil Winfield IS Maverick Music. He's not the victim, he's the perpetrator. He took John Mayer for a ride. He sold John Mayer's gear to an as yet unknown third party and kept the cash, all $275,000 of it. You could buy a nice burst for that!

It's just not cricket.

Ahhh my apologies, I misunderstood the document and thought that Phil Winfield was the party that had purchased the amp from Maverick!
Do Maverick have previous on this charge? I've never bought anything from them but have never heard anyone speak poorly of them.
