There is also a decider between the two speakers so with the back on each speaker has it's own enclosure. I will check out the Dumble cabs in the morning. I did notice that RF has a 2x12 oval open back cab. Is that a dumble cab?

yes that's the classic 2x12 Dumble cab, there's a 1x12 version as well with the same oval back.

I took some general voltage reading in the amp while I had it open. A while back I made a AC voltage browner that drops my AC voltage from 120 to 114vac. I did some reading with and without the Browner.

120vac

6L6plate & Bias 469vdc @ 30ma per tube

Phase inverter 306vdc and 31vdc2

Both pre and OD tube plates. 209 & 214 approx. Depending on tubes used.

Filament voltage 6.67vac

114vac

6L6 Plate & Bias 436vdc @ 30ma per tube

phase inverter 288vdc & 294vdc

Pre and OD tube plated 199vdc and 203vdc

filament voltage 6.26vac

The small 2X12 cab is just an excellent size, with 2X12 or 1X15.
Search Dumble cab, and check that out.
The Dumble 2X12 is cab is pretty close to a Fender size cab, with the oval cutout back configuration.
As I said in another post, I have a 1X12 combo cab with the D oval cutout back, and they work great.
JBLs (or Neos) sound great in Fender type cabs in any case.

My Fender Cab measurements
20"H x 32"W x 12" deep

Thanks

Yes RF uses a Dumble 2X12 with Celestion G12-65s.
The divider in the Fender cab is the way it was built stock.

The fender cab does seem to be pretty close. Hmm

Speaking from experience

used a Celestion CENTURY NEO in a D combo, in REVERSE polarity, it was AWESSOME!!

Reason so, A 30 yr+ Orchestra conductor, n awsm guitar player said so! lol!

Really, it was GREAT! Had more OF it than the marshall 4 x 12 `s we tried it thru! Crazy huh!

There have been discussions about phasing on the output of Dumbles.

I was working on Talk to Your Daughter today. I had my headphones on and was trying to ply along to a YouTube video and I have to say this amp doesn't sound half bad. I think I do need the 2 x 12 open back Dumble setup. I think the closed back setup sounds kind of boxy to me.

Thanks

I found on my 100 watt dumble copy, using a 1-12 open back cab (oval cut out) with a WGS ET 90 speaker, reversing the polarity gave me much more note bloom and more sweet harmonic content. In the OD channel.

Chip, Sounds interesting.
Does a dunble ator affect the tone of the amp without effects running through it?

Thanks

Yes. Quite a bit in fact. Get the amp set up for your sound, and then control overall level with the Dlator. Works.
For speakers, I use 1 or 2 TL806 cabs I built with EVM 12Ls Series I in them.
They work great, but are obviously closed cabs--no sound out the back for the drummer.
