Monkeymatic ODS

My first D build! Thanks to RJ for the nice chassis, faceplates and boards for this D'Lite style box. Nice 5v supply and relay boards from Colossal.

Looks nice and clean!

Are you going to run 6v6 or 6L6?

I found these amps sound great with a fender style spring reverb. I added a 2 tube fender style reverb to mine and love the sound.

This build is getting a pair of 6L6, with option for EL34. I have two OTs to choose from, the nice Shumachers I got from local source, one is 4K primary, one is 6K.

And yes, it's always nice and clean until you put all those damn wires in there!

Progress shown. I mounted the 4K OT, leaning toward EL34s. Left the leads long, so it's a little messy.

Looks great! Is that chassis true to the dimensions of a dlite, mounting and all?

Caps look like Panasonics.

Yes, Panasonic polypropylene.

The chassis came from RJ, who said it's a D'Lite chassis, but I don't know. I'm just following the Tweeked D'Lite schem/layout for the most part, and willfully ignoring/adapting some layout suggestions. This chassis has no standby switch (fine by me), does have FX loop jacks, footswitch jack is in a different spot, etc.

Got the south side wired. That leaves pots and relays.

RJ, if that's all it takes to make you smile, send me some more of your unfinished projects!

Yeah, i really need to implement the no cost build" 14U n 14me2" program. I have at least a couple dozen various unfinished amp projects and need to clear some workspace... so many amps to build and so little time!

Done! Had to swap OT secondaries, made an error in my bias supply (forgot to wire the adjustment pot wiper) and had to adjust the bias to get -35v. Other than that...NO ERRORS and NO ISSUES!

And wow! SUPER quiet at idle. Everything works. Switching is especially sweet. Beautiful sounds. Got to play for 15 minutes only, but really, really happy.

Hey, Dave! Colossal 5v supply and switching boards are awesome. Super convenient design.

Nice looking build - great job and you went through that pretty quick - have you eaten or slept in the last few days?
