New source for ODS boards?

Post by Ron »

June 7, 2015

I just tried to order a set of boards for another ODS clone project using a CE Pedals chassis, but Jason Borders at AGB Amps informed me that he's out of main boards and doesn't plan on making more.

Is there another source for ODS boards that fit the CE Pedals ODS chassis?

I'm not in crisis mode yet, but I just took the turnoff.

it's not a big deal to re drill for a different chassis mounting.

I've been using Marsh boards.

they are the old type power supply boards though.

I strongly prefer the "old" power supply, think about replacing filter caps in the future!

I'll check out the Marsh Amp boards, thanks.

No problem Ron, Mike (Marsh) is a member here too :)

Do you know if there's anywhere to buy just the FET and relay boards individually?
I got an FET board from AGB awhile back, but the relay boards were already out of stock.

Jason @ AGB told me he thought they were out of relay boards too.

There are a few differences between the AGB and Marsh boards, based only on website images of the Marsh boards:

* AGB FET and two small power supply boards are PCBs and have insulating backing boards for close mounting on the chassis sides.

* AGB relay boards have (optional) eyelets, which are very helpful in soldering from the non-trace side.

* ABG main and power supply boards appear to be thicker.

* AGB offers the "modern" power supply PCB as well as the standard eyelet board.

* AGB boards are drilled for mounting in the CE Pedals aluminum chassis.

If Mike Marsh reads this, perhaps he might consider taking over the AGB Dumble clone board production and sales.

I've got 2 FET boards I don't need as I built without them.

Hi guys,
I may be able to help with the main board and the power supply board

I can use the AGB images to make the main board and power supply boards

But, I don't know the dimensions of those two boards
I would need to know the width and height of each board shown in my attached images.

I have been making a ton of custom boards for guys recently
No reason I could not add these boards to the list :D

I can make boards in black or natural FR4/G10 board material on my CNC machine

I just added a bunch of new FR4/G10 eyelet boards to this page
http://hoffmanamps.com/MyStore/catalog/EyeletBoard.htm

And here is the page with the turret boards I make
http://hoffmanamps.com/MyStore/catalog/TurretBoard.htm

I already stock channel switching power supply boards and relay boards here.

Doug, all of the boards could be high quality, thick (0.125") G10 eyelet boards except the switching boards, which are too small and need IC sockets for the relays. Apparently there is a good source for these (look a few posts above). The FET and two small power supply boards should have (thinner, 0.06") insulating backing boards, like the AGB set, IMO. Two of them have high voltages on them, one is low voltage for the relay system.

Unfortunately, I don't have an unmounted set of boards to measure, I just used them in an amp. Nevertheless I might be able to get the dimensions of all the boards from AGB. John/Jason might have drawings too, if they're no longer interested in making the boards.

PS I can provide the dimensions of the mounting holes for a CE pedals ODS chassis.

That just looks so weird nowadays as we're all Metric here over the pond :D

Reminds me of my dad, who was an engineer in the time they used inches and feet etc

Regarding the insulated backing, is it an issue if they don't? Mine are mounted on 15mm standoffs which gives plenty of room between the chassis and back of the boards.

Doug, dimensions including mounting centers for all of the AGB boards are on the web site.
