Look who stopped for lunch a few weeks ago.

Post by glasman »

An old buddy stopped by for lunch a couple of weeks ago. He was on his way home to California.

Another long reputed dumble player.

He was stopping by to pick up one of his Zingaro combos. He let me know that he is heading ot the studio to record a new album. Not bad for a guy 72 who tours exclusively by car from gig to gig.

For those of us not in the know, who is this Zingaro-playing axe grinder?

David has a lot of history, Jackson Browne, El Rayo X, Warren Zevon, Ry Cooder. He recently did an album with Bonnie Riatt. And he never stops playing, Check out his tour schedule. He does a lot of shows per year.

He was literally the first person that I heard from with condolences when my first wife, Cindy, passed away 4 years ago.

Yeah, he is a very good guy. Loves to talk politics, weird instruments which is usually the current one he is learning to play and his oddball dealings with Dumble over the years.

BTW, for the fashion conscience folks, Rasta Dave likes to ship goodwill for his stage clothing. Jackson and Dave make trips to local GW stores when they are on the road looking for the latest in Polyster fashsion lol.

Very cool. David has been recording his latest album at my friends studio here in Orange County, CA. An amazing musician who can play anything with strings on it.

Cool :D Big David Lindley fan here :D

I work with quite a few guys who are now in their 70's and still know how to put on a good show.

Forgive the blatant plug for the upcoming tour of the UK :D

And who's that athletic, skinny dude standing next to Lindley? :D

Thanks Gil. Well you know me from my past and yeah I am a bit thinner these days. As it stands I have lost a net of 120 pounds. Started at 310 shortly after Cindy passed away. Feel a lot better and have more energy.

MIchelle, the new wife bitches at me not wanting me to lose any more weight. I just need to tone up what I have left lol.

So when you gonna make the pilgrimage to San Tan Valley and we can fool around in the shop.

Congratulations, Gary. What you have done surely must have been a great challenge and you've pulled it off. Yes, we definitely have to have that hang at Headquarters... How much time is there left? I will be leaving for Europe in a few weeks and will be gone for a few, we'd probably be looking at early fall on my end. And yes, the older picture with Lindley tells a story! Good going, buddy.
