These is everthing I gathered of the Dumble Steel String Singer #004 so far

A previous owner confirmed it has a "classic" tonestack

I think the speaker the #004 is using (3rd pic) is Altec Lansing 417 12". The ones on the Dumbleland cab look like EV EVM 12L

I was listening to this great video of JM playing the #004 https://youtu.be/hbfBI9bopcY

Given it is sitting next to the Fender Dual Professional I figured we can reverse engineer the size of the cab. They look like standard SSS 26.5".

I attach below the sizes of the Dual Professional which will give a bit of guidance

I have a question for the Dumble savy here

I noticed that the cabinet built for #004 can be used as combo. There is a gap on the top to drop in the chassis.

Given this SSS has a reverb and hence a reverb tank, which is usually placed on the lower (floor) part of the head cabinet, or similarly on the lower (floor) part of the combo.

Is it a fair assumption that both the head and the cabinet have their individual reverb tanks for the potential chassis drop in?

This looks to be the cabinet John is using with the #004 http://maverick-music.com/vintage-amps/ ... bo-cabinet
Incredibly rare Dumble product, 2×12 speaker cabinet with the removable top panel which allows this cabinet to become a 2×12 suede combo. It is in excellent original condition with zero issues, the tan suede is remarkably clean.
Two Original Dumble spec JBL D131 drivers in perfect operational condition. 8 original metal corners and 4 original metal feet, and original strap handle. A piece of Dumble history and extremely flexible as a speaker cabinet with a head or, as a 2×12 combo.

Perhaps these photo threads should be moved to the files section.

It seems TAG is not really interested on this post.

AFAIR what Henry Kaiser told: The combo cabinet is the original cabinet of SSS 100W #004. Later SSS #004 was (and still is) mounted in the head cabinet and the top (front and back) of the combo cabinet was (and still is) closed.

Cheers,

Max

Does anyone knows which wood was this cabinet made of?
I just exchanged a couple emails with Maverick

The speaker cabinet was made of oak

They said many of the dumbles are marine ply
