Well I had more details in my own forum. Now to understand what this all means. Thanks to everyone for putting up with the Dumble / amp builder newbie!Charlie Wilson wrote: ↑Fri Mar 03, 2017 11:15 pm Yours is going to be a high plate Skyliner, so instead of 100k plate load/1.5k cathode, you will have 220k/3.3k and 150k/2.2k. Your od trimmer will be 100k instead of 346k and od drive will be 100k instead of 250k. Also it wouldn't take much to tweek your circuit to a Robben Ford 102.

Doing a bit more research I think I found a 70s OD circuit diagram and compared to my layout and I can see what CW was saying. I also checked the components on my boards supplied by Marsh and it matches the high plate and EQ matches Skyliner values.dwietzel wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2017 11:24 amWell I had more details in my own forum. On the High Plate picture did I identify the correct components?
Thanks again everyone.

Got it. Better?martin manning wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2017 12:47 pmWell, half of them... V1 plate and cathode resistors are also included. Low plate is 100k/1k5 across the board.

Re: New Build: Ceriatone Replica OTS 50W
yep...you got it
sonically they're quite important differences so it's good to note these things.
they're easy things to change and experiment with too so bear that in mind.
you can also try mixing and matching, so you could have a low plate V1(clean) and a high plate V2(OD) or visa versa.
I'd build to spec first and get comfortable with that before experimenting though.

Thanks. That has been my main reason for building my own amplifiers in case I wanted to do the Mods!norburybrook wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2017 6:26 pm yep...you got it

Well now I am really excited. My cabinet came in. If you are wondering about the color scheme, it is something I have done with my Bassman and Tweed Deluxe build so they all match. Plus I just love the work at Mather Amps. There quality and price are very reasonable IMHO. They can be reached at http://mathercab.com/

nice....black and cream...now if only I could get away with making cabs that didn't have metal corners to hide the mistakes!!!

OK - first time with Coax. It seems tricky to try and get the shield in a way to not melt the inner wire covering. I think I did OK.
Is there some secret to unravel the finger torture wire they call a shield? Mine seems like such a mess. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

I use a pointed object and can feather it out pretty easily, then twist it up on the side so you create a nice connection for the ground wire.

Dave,
I can't see the shield at the pot ends. That's the end you need to shield , Dumble soldered it to the back of the pots, you can solder it to the buss bar if you like, I just cant see either there.

On my RG174 coax, I just push down the coax a little to bulge it out at the cut and make a gap in it with a pointy pick and pull out the inner part, no untangling needed and I never lose any strands of shield that way. It may not work with all types of coax.

That sounds perfect. I will certainly give that a try Thanks!sonicmojo wrote: ↑Sat Jul 01, 2017 12:23 am On my RG174 coax, I just push down the coax a little to bulge it out at the cut and make a gap in it with a pointy pick and pull out the inner part, no untangling needed and I never lose any strands of shield that way.
