Overdrive Special 124 too bright

Post by Guy77 »

Hi, just wanted to send special thanks to everyone that helped upgrade the forum software!
I have a friends Overdrive Special 124 (2008 ceriatone) and he wants to have the clean channel less bright and more fendery sounding (scooped).
I was wondering were some of you would start modding it. I was thinking to change the slope resistor/mid cap from 150k/10n to 100k/47n in order to get it closer to fender territory. I was also thinking of installing a treble bleed on the clean channel.Does anyone know where I would slice in the treble bleed on a 124 clean channel ?

Thanks

Guy

Hi Guy,

Omit the master bright cap. Make sure the fx loop resistor/cap is only engaged when something is plugged in the loop.
100k slope with 0.047 mid cap is more fendeery indeed.

Thank you Erwin. I forgot about all those extra bright caps in the system! I will take them out.

Cheers
