Apparently...

Post by Scumback Speakers »

TAG was allowed back in at the TGP forum after 8-9 years. Is he still persona non grata (banned) here? Just curious.

I don't know what's worse; TAG being allowed back in or the fact that I care....................

Since I'm the new guy, I thought this forum was TAG (The Amp Garage) but it sounds like you're implying it's also a person?

Sorry I'm lost :I

Tag101 was a user here, who used all the brain power he could muster on a user name.

He is not in any form an amp builder and has no hopes of becoming one. At some level, he has been shown how to hold a guitar, albeit in a rather rakish manner.

He has recorded and posted the same lame interpretation of a Robben Ford interpretation of Cream's "Politician" 5 or 6 hundred times to prove he can almost play it.

"Tag knows tone" is his catch phrase. The above mentioned youtube cartoon indicates successfully the derision bestowed upon that catch phrase by those fortunate enough to have experienced his performance videos.

He has been banned on every musician's web site since Gore invented the internet, and was involved in several members of this forum being fleeced out of money for a copy of a real Dumble he acquired somewhere, reverse engineered, and reproduced with the help of another member ( Shad, if I remember correctly ), before selling said amp, #183, to yet another member.

I like him.

I believe he will continue to allow the world to bask in the glory of his wisdom and musical prowess, and provide laughter for children everywhere for time immemorial.

I think we should all kiss his ass and give him full membership, nay, administrator rights, immediately.

That is all.

I should not drink and post.

I then tend to pull my punches.

Heh heh...Tag. Sometimes all you can do is shake your head, and with him, I do it quite often.

And that Shad/Quinn/D clone ripoff thing will always be associated with him.

EDIT: just watched that "Tag Knows Tone" clip. My wife and I were grinning from ear to ear. "Damnit Steve, you are under his spell, you are a lost cause!" LOL

Bob S, I imagine he earned a lot of that bitch slapping online, from what I've seen of his posts.

And I quit reading them about the time that thread was started in 2008/9.

Honorary bitch...nice! LOL
