Yes, the 7812 is isolated from the chassis with a mica insulator. There is only ONE point of contact with the chassis. That's what I was experimenting with, when using the alligator jumper, to find the best point to connect to chassis.

Very nice build and great pics! This may finally prompt me to break out the half done CE chassis that is collecting dust over the bench.

What a great build, superb work! I'm contemplating a 183 before I do my low plate 124 build. I'm concerned about the capacity of the PT to handle the heater load. I'm posting a question separately on that. I assume that's the source of the heat concern.

No, the PT does not get hot. Just the tubes.

Yes! The 470p||470k peaker did the trick! I love this. Really cleared out the mud and congestion in the OD channel. I tried half a dozen times to tune the OD to my liking. Glad to finally make progress!
