any reason not to do this?

Post by norburybrook »

Building another bluesmaster and trying to get it to fit in a small combo case. Hoping that moving the OT near the end will make room for the speaker.

Is there any reason not to route the cables through the hole I have here with a grommet in it? I can drill another hole nearer the transformer but as there's hole there from an unused valve I thought it might do.

Only reason I can think is protection of the 3 inches of cable on the outside rather than inside of chassis, but with some heat shrink round it I cant see it getting damaged by anything.

Same thing when doing the 6l6 upgrade to a PR.... if you route the cable on the outside it will interfere with the sensitive preamp section less.

thanks, that's another reason I'd thought about but dismissed :D
