So that you can sell it to one of your fabulously wealthy rock star clients for a ton of dough, silly.

Sorry to have bothered the members here with my obviously silly questions. I won't do it again.

What is your problem? A member provided information about an amp that Dumble is supposed to have modified for one of his customers; another member drew up a layout. TM confirmed your conclusion that the circuit was only minimally modified. Nobody touted it as something that you or anyone else is "supposed" to build.

Some people are overly sensitive I guess. I read the whole thread and aside from some light hearted poking at the fact they were completely right already, I don't get why they felt people were just agreeing with the general assessment. Maybe they don't like to be teased?

Nobody here was rude or insulting so far as I can tell.

/me shrugs?

Not sure about the "supposed to have" part of this. Amps were brought from Dumbles shop to my house by a friend of his. I guess on the other hand, Dumble has never come on the forum and verified any of the amps were indeed made by him so I guess they are all supposedly made by Dumble.

Charlie, I just phrased it that way because I don't have personal knowledge of the provenance of the amp. Not questioning it or anything like that.

Isn't the first filter cap grounded separately? There were so many jokes I didn't understood - in your own thread - that I refrained from posting about that (plus I feel like something of a newbie managing to explain theings to a guru.)

Note that I managed to ground the first filter cap separately in myn own SE build and I'm not sure this changes much the hum level :|

You didn't ground one branch of the heater circuit directly to the chassis like in the vintage model, did you?
