Yep! :D KOA Speer's

BTW..If you can find the older NOS- RN 65/70 series surplus WWII MF's (like on the early ODS's) those are wonderful!! Articulate/Clear and (chirp nicely  ) and are very smooth and rich with 2nd order but are a bitch to find..For New production plates the KOA's IMO do the job nicely. :D IMO

Good Luck with the build!!

Half-watt KOA Speers, Tony? Very few values available in 1W...

Yes I use the 1 watters.. I got them at Mouser quite a while ago at least 5 years!..Don't tell me they are phasing those out of production..Wouldn't doubt it with everything going surface mount..I will do some checking and see if we can find a source?

1/2W will work, maybe a bit noisier.

I did try some PRP 1/2w and it was nice too, less edgy than the new Dale.

From a power dissipation point of view 1/2W is not a problem. 1W's may have been used in an effort to reduce noise, but MF are very quiet anyway. I don't think there would be any noticeable difference, but you know, some people... ;^)

yes :D

I'd like to try and see if I can hear/discern a difference :D it's an easy swap out to replace those.

I agree! the 1/2 watts should be OK..
Full disclosure..Andy Fuchs reported some failures with the KOA's some time back.To be on the safe side I went higher on the wattage. :D .I don't remember if he was using 1/2 watt or 1 watt?..I have not had any failures yet to report..Give the 1/2's a try but be aware.
BTW.Another source for the 1's could be E-bay but you may have to go to China and wait..Just a thought..Yes let me know what your opinions are on the KOA plates

Good Luck..Tony

I tried Ebay first and came up blank.

Interesting thread though all round. It's what I love about this place :D

Thanks for all the information guys I really appreciate it.

Tony I did read about the 2-35 pot on the layout, finally sunk in my wandering brain.

I gave Jelle all my 100k robin blue RN70D resistors, they look better in his builds.

I'm going with the brown Dales even though it is a bright amp.

Watching carefully to learn. At least few months to go before starting mine. Slowly bookmarking advice and preparing lists for the key orders.

Best .. Ian
Funny that hole has been bugging me too, perhaps tube effects loop.

Yep. Post-PI driver had been under consideration, but effects loop is preferred plan for now.

Thanks to dreric i now have a Fender 2-35 250k pot for my RF#102 build.

OK I was under the impression that the #102 used a on-on-on mini switch for the Rock/Jazz?
