JM/Wonderland using marshall style iron?

Post by Homebelly »

Long time lurker.. some time poster.

I'm doing the preliminary home work on a JM/Wonderland build using the schem and layout from this forum.

A couple years back I was getting ready to start a 69SL.
I have a chassis, Iron and tubes.

I'm wondering if the Iron I have would work if I built a JM/Wonderland with EL34's..?

I have these on hand.

Also.

Would there be anything else I would need to consider to adapt layout/schem to EL34's..?

Cheers.

You should be fine with that iron. One change people make with el34s is to change the screen resistors from 470 ohm to 1K to better protect the el34s.
I played my recent JM/Wonderland with el34 and it sounded great. Also be sure to wire the power tubes correctly for el34 .
It is one of those amps that sound great with both 6L6 , el34 and 6v6 tubes.
Enjoy!
