Tweedle Dee Deluxe Build

Post by pompeiisneaks »

I'm doing a Tweedle Dee Deluxe. Been chatting about the eyelet board here on other threads, but here's the first video in the series:

Have you seen Blencowe's articles on this type of P.I.?

He discusses the blatty sound from the P. I. and his measures to overcome it.

I get the feeling that the HAD P.I. stage has less current capability than the stock amp. I'm not sure if that is a plus or a minus. I think the amp needs more gain from the first stage as a lot of gain is lost in the P.I.

Of course I could be wrong but that's how it looks like on paper to me.
Yours Sincerely

Interesting, I'll have to see how the circuit sounds, and if possible, I may incorporate some of Merlin's stuff. I've got the second video up now, here it is:

I found exactly this when I played with the Tweedle circuit... HAD was on to something with the dedicated PI B+ node and greater plate & cathode resistance. I didnt find the balance pot very necessary though, but Merlin's grid stopper idea helps with the blattyness.

PS - your TW Rocket schematic came out great for me Mark!

that's all far too neat and tidy Phil. You should see my studio when I'm in the middle of a build, looks like someone's left a horse in there :D

Well my shop is always a mess, this is my wife wanting to do it on the kitchen table (thus the paper towels covering the table so as to not scratch it :P)

You're very lucky to have a wife that shares an interest in this stuff with you.
