Yes, and it says the average DC voltage would be 0.45 x V AC. For a 800V transformer with CT this would be 360V...

If you look at the 290 series replacement transformers from Hammond you'll see that the 100W transformers are 640V CT @ 518mA or, if it is a modern 100W model (for instance 100W red knob Twin), it has a single winding for 337V @ 1.1A.

For some reason the current rating went up, used to be 450 mA. The thing is with a two-phase rectifier only half of the HT winding is in use at a time, and it is designed for that load and half of the full secondary voltage. The Red Knob Twin uses a FWB, where the entire winding is in use for the full cycle, so per the Hammond rectifier sheet the DC current is 0.62 times the AC.

I am sorry to popup as the lurker without input, but the LNFB discussed earlier in the thread.. I am not sure I caught start of that or the end of it.. and I did look.

Is there a chance we might have a definitive thread on LNFB for impressions on so many values?

Love y'all! Carry on.

You mean the lnfb resistor connected to v1a cathode? 100k for sure.
Don't know if another thread will be helpful, just one resistor and easy to try.
The amp will stay clean longer, mild compression with a wide frequency response. Bass is massive but not congested. I only have positive things to tell on the 100k in that spot which I can't say for the 1M.

@Ryan: what's the heater wire you used on the PCB SSS?
You mention it in one of your videos but I can't find it in the BOM.

I use https://tubedepot.com/products/18-ga-ti ... efzel-wire for mine. The total heater current draw is 7A about so you could get away with using https://tubedepot.com/products/20-ga-si ... -ptfe-wire for the preamp and 18ga on the power amp if you're having a hard time with the 9 pin sockets. (I recently started doing this combo 18ga/20ga)

Thanks for sharing! I'm in the EU however.
If someone's got any good alternatives from EU distributors let me know :)

Hi Volker, I usually buy most tube related stuff at www.tube-town.de. Cable-wiese I use silicon insulated wires wherever possible. Also a good forum there (in German)
also good for electronics supply in general is www.reichelt.de
