Dumble 4x12 dims????

Post by jelle »

Hi,

I'm looking for the dims of a Dumble 4x12 cab. I have seen the dims for the 1x12 and the 2x12 on this forum but the info on the 4x12 is still lacking.....

Thanks in advance,

Jelle,

The one I played was Identical in size to a Marshall TV cab, but it had a Center baffle separating top and bottom and a removable back pannel for each. Honestly it wasn't that great sounding, the Matchless 4x12 next to it was a much nicer sounding cab IMHO.

IIRC the Matchless cab has an open back, right?

Thanks for the info, I did not know that it had a removable panel for each section.

Identical to a Marshall TV cab...So it was taller than the normal 1960a and b boxes?

Thanks,

Yeah, it was tall like an oversized boogie recto 4x12.

The matchless was a closed back.

the D-cab was kinda thonky sounding.

Originally it had EV 12S speakers, it now has Vintage 30's I believe (The favorite of Sonny Landreth).

That is the first time that I hear of a HRM player that likes V30's! LOL!

bruno 4x12"

Post by dr. who »

I have taken down most of the dimensions of the 4x12" cab. It is slightly angled faced with a 1.5" difference between the top and bottom. The cab is 30"x30"x14"I believe and is made mostle of .5" plywood. It had a 2"x2" tone block of wood in the middle of the 4 speakers with polyfill to dempen the back when screwed on. The 4x12" Celection G12H 70'th anniversary speakers were mounted 1" from the sides/top/bottom. There are .75" thick plywood strips cut to 1" width and are cut to 28" and recessed .5" to screw the back on. Inside the back of the cab the board that the speakers are mounted on starts 9.5" from the top and 11" on the bottom. the handles were mounted 3" down from the top on the sides and centered- I think they were 6.5 x10.5"
*(all below is not 100%)
I know that there is a vertical wood block that measures 1.5" and horizontal one thats 2". These intersect behing the bruno label so I don't know which is the long one. They are on the slope so I guess the tops and bottoms are cut to the respective number of degrees(geometry is currently behind one of my cobwebs in my head). I would guess that the sloped board is .5" plywood as well but I am not sure. There are two sets of .5"x.5" plywood strips cut to 8.25" and 9.75" respectively- these are used as a support between the back of the sloped board and the .75"x1" strips used to mount the back onto(they are angled on one side. I don't know these things because I don't want to ruin the covering.
Hope this helps.
I will put the wiring up soon.
