My Peavey conversion has a passive loop, but everything I've tried in the loop loads down the amp and kills the tone. I breadboarded a parallel loop quite awhile ago and finally got the time to build it into a single rack space chassis. I used one of the Dumbleator xformers Brandon sold awhile ago.
I connected it today. Bottom line is that it's completley transparent and allows me to put almost anything into the loop without loading down the amp at all. I've tried a Boss RV-3, an Alesis Nano-verb, a PODxt and an Alesis Midiverb III.
Since all I really want is some delays and chorus' I'm installing the Midiverb into the rack along with my wireless receivers and the Starr-alator. (Starr is my middle name).
No layout drawn since I'll I used was a few terminal strips, but here's the schematic and a picture of the front of the rack.
