fet circuit voltage

Post by mat »

In my HRM build my fet voltage measures 10V after the 150k dropping resistor. Should I lower the resistor to get more voltage to the fet ? Should I aim for 30V or something ?

Anyone measured the voltage on a real thing ?

10v should be fine. 30v is overkill and not needed.
I've used the circuit in pedal form with 9v battery o.k. but think the original spec of 10-11v provides a sweet boost. I also prefer CCs in this circuit. Yeah I know, I've read all the guff on the net about CCs but they still nicer compared to CF and MF in this circuit to my ears. YMMV.
cheers

The little FET schematic in the archives calls for 10-11V.

Ok, thanks tonelab2.

Ok, then I'm just right there :D
