Sorry to hear that. He lives on through all of the musicians, engineers, and amp pirates who followed his lead.

Getting very sad, reminds me of this message I got:

"Thanks mate, we'll do! Dumble thanks you as well (I told him that you have been a big help!)"

The Dumble "mystique" was what made me to want to build tube amps. The internet rabbit hole I went down to learn more about what made his amps so special is what led me to this site and sent me down this path of compulsively building amplifiers one after another.

I bet Joe B might adjust his pricing strategy for that 50 watt now

Hats off to HAD. He certainly changed my world, and many others.
About 20 years ago, I had a guy build me my first custom amp. I had been playing through store bought gear up to that point and was ready to step up to better tone. The builder asked me to give him examples of a dozen guitar players with tone I liked so he could use that as a base. I was not a gear nut and knew very little about amps, and I certainly had never heard the name Dumble, but every amp on my list was built by him.

Pretty similar here.
For me - it was his amps that caused the amp building (I tend to believe mild, others disagree) obsession and got me into this (delightful) madness.
