From #183 to BluesMaster

Post by jazzbass »

Hi everybody,

I built a clone of the Dumble project # 183 using a motherboard supplied by AAElectronics but I was not happy with the result of the OD. I liked the clean side a lot but not the OD,
so I decided to turn the amplifier into a BluesMaster.
I have read several positive reviews about the BluesMaster and I was very curious.
The result was surprising, beautiful, I certainly dedicated a couple of days to change some components and then a day for small important final adjustments.
I have kept the FET circuit which I find useful in this circuit as well.
I attach some photos of the changes.

Un abbraccio.

Franco

Hi Franco, I can see a mixture of resistor in there!

was it your choice?

What's your trafos?

Dear Sergio,

:D :D :D I used what I had at home, especially resistors ordered in Tubetown, a mixture of Metal Oxide and Metal Film, RN65D, Carbon Film also putting two resistors in series to obtain the value shown in the diagrams.

Keep in mind that it was an experiment done only to verify if I could transform a model that did not give me satisfaction into something else that intrigued me, taking as a basis the motherboard of AAElectronics that has shown great adaptability and great robustness.

I was intrigued by the Bluesmaster for what I had read but, as you know, each of us has our own idea of sound and I wanted to listen with my ears.

The conclusion was that, for now, the amplifier remains in the latest version a "Bluesmaster without RMA" then we'll see.

The transformers are built in Italy by A.E.I. F.lli Onofri Snc.

Un Abbraccio

Ciao Artguitar,
