Dumble footswitch cable?

Post by neskor »

Why Dumble used 5 core for the footswitch cable?
I think you can have the same function with 3 core cable, we already have positive voltage on wires coming from the reley, so we can use that to power LED on footswitch.
Am I missing something?

Midi like cables are cheaper. And if one like add a mid boost, the extra core is useful instead of having to stock a seperate 4 and 5 core incl all hardware involved.
The voltage for the relay and the led are seperate, makes the diode brightness the same and prevent relay switching anomalies when voltage is fluctuating during switching and/or led failure.
