Wonder which amps he talks about. If it's about the 300SL amps, those are equipped with a sextet of 6550's? I think one of those is still on reverb. Has the flamingo on the face plate, though the ad doesn't mention Cross as a previous owner IIRC.

I'm pretty sure it is, he talked about them being the precursor to the SSS. That must have been one hell of a rig. I wonder what happened to the ODS, anybody know?

This was really cool! I thought that SSS comment was interesting too. The KTC was a different beast from the other SSS amps, so I suppose that is what he means since several SSS amps predated his custom Dumbles. Also interesting that he mentions those amps being his rhythm rig, while SRV was all lead. Perhaps just a headroom thing for Stevie playing so heavy handed (at the right times) with heavy strings.

Cross is a great storyteller! A little biting commentary on gear collectors vs. players in there too ;^)
