Combining the Dumbleator with the Fender Reverb Unit 6G15

Post by toto »

I got the idea to combine the Dumbleator (using the AAelectronics Elator pcb) with the Fender reverb unit 6G15 (using the Tube Town Surfmate kit) in the same chassis.
  • the Reverb Unit would go after the Dumbleator
  • the H1 & H2 heaters of the reverb unit would go to the Dumbleator tube socket (so the pins 4, 5 & 9 wouldn't be connected to the elator pcb)
  • transformer for the Dumbleator => Hammondf 229B120
  • both units would use the same power switch (and the Dumbleator would have a standby switch)
  • I would like to have the capability to switch on/off the Dumbleator
Attachments:
  • the layout + schematic of the TT Reverb Unit
  • the AAelectronics Elator layout
  • the layout combining both units
What do you think? Do you see any issue to share the main power socket with both units? Same question regarding the H1 & H2 heaters, can they be connected to 2 different units' tube sockets?

Thanks :)

Fyi and fwiw Hammond transformer listed does not have a necessary voltage winding for filaments .
