Assuming worst-case 500V B+ you could go as low as 250k and still keep the dissipation at 0.25W, and therefore use 1/2W resistors: (500/2)^2/0.25 = 250k. But that will just about double the current to ground at each node and drag down the string voltages. On the upper end, there are formulas to calculate balance resistor values. You can find those in capacitor data sheets. The last time I worked through that I found that 470k was on the high side. I would stay between 370k and 470k to keep it close to the original. Unless you have a set of 370k or 420k, just order some 470k.
