Interesting, I am hearing breakup happening on some of those Nashville tracks recorded with this Steel String Singer.
Many people that are not into building amps think all these SSS amps are perfectly clean no matter how high they are cranked but I realized that is not the case and some models do get a fair amount of breakup happening .

Thanks for posting

Cheers

Using the Fet input and put the first volume at max you get a good dirty tone. How much "ampwise" depends on the LNFB circuits. Those are different: f.e 002 and 004 have different LNFB circuits. 002 tends to stay clean longer IMO

Hi Erwin, yes it really is a good dirty tone, I especially like the way 6550 tubes breakup in these amps. I think its because i am hearing some EL34 character in them but still some resemblance to 6L6 tone.

Thanks for posting Max. I am also hearing that great driven tone from the 6550 tubes in the mp3 in the link you sent. Its a very distinctive driven tone that you dont really get with 6L6 tubes.
Really nice.
