Yet another Dumbleator

Fellow Ampgaragists,

Forum member dbharris graciously provided me with a set of his very fine Dumbleator PCB sets. See his thread about his built: https://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... or#p451296

Apparently he still has some sets so I would encourage everyone to get a set from him since these are top quality and make building a Dumbleator a breeze.

I had to make my own power supply board, since my PT provides 270V and thus I use a FWB rectifier setup.

I also implemented the Clausolator dual 500k mix setup and a switch for parallel and serial as well.

The unit sounds quite nice, no hum, no noise and I will use it with my Double SSS preamp and the Pentode preamp (my ODS preamp has an in-built Dumbleator). I will write something about my experiences with the Double SSS going into the power amp of my 002 SSS clone in the next couple of days since all of the three SSS preamp topologies sound quite different and complement each other going into the same power amp.

Really neat work! I love your rig.
Once you go rack, you can never go back!
First pic is with the 200w per side Class D stereo power amp, but I couldn't resist an all tube 20/20 rig in the end!
The Palmer Macht does have some slam though, and I'm keeping it.

Wow, that looks nice rogb! Did you tweak your 183 preamp from the original schematic or is stock? Any pics from the innards?

it was all done in a rush as I was moving house and it was packed away. I only revived it last year, and heard it through some rack power amps and loved it, so I rehoused in a very light alu case, rather than the original heavy steel one.
It was just a bit of fun using flat pack transformers, and never more than that, a fun prototype.
But boy it sounds good!

I am contemplating the rack approach because amps is taking a lot of space, and they don't allow same agility of combinations between preamps and power stages.

Speaking of D-lator, I did one in a pedal enclosure, and is very quiet as well.

Where do you get the the front panel for the rack unit? Is it etched into the metal or water decal?
