"Hi, I'm who ever the musician is in that video and I own one of the most coveted guitar amps in the world. And now for my enjoyment, I'm going to watch you all squirm while I use it produce the most dissonant sounds imaginable." Love those fragile harmonics.

Actually, I shouldn't talk. I have to claim ignorance and admit that I have NO idea who that guy is. He's probably a more accomplished that I can ever imagine myself being. I look forward to being enlightened by those more knowledgable than me.

Dr. D's guitar sounded great though.

Not sure, but I think that is Henry Kaiser.

That is a very old video. And yes, it is Henry Kaiser.

An acquired taste.

Yep, that's Henry Kaiser. He's a true artist, and as such, can't make a living from music. He works for UC Berkeley in the Geo-Physics department, I believe. He took a Gryphon graphite acoustic to the south pole at one point.

After reading my post, I realize that it sounds a little harsh. I shouldn't go around ripping other guitarist's style. I was just hoping to hear the amp featured more than the effects.

Not that he would need to. He is the grandson of Henry J. Kaiser and an heir to trillions of dollars.....

Ah, a true-true artist. He doesn't have to make a living at all. So he can play whatever the hell he feels like. :D

I noticed on his home page he likes listening to Derek Bailey:

Did he say electrons can survive in a vacuum? To think of all the electrons I've been killing by using a solid state distortion pedal all these years. Poor little guys.

Derek Bailey - I wondered where the "famous name here" shreds parody guy learned his licks. If you don't know what I'm talking about here's an example of just one of many 'shreds' parodies on you tube:

I had seen a couple of these, but this is the best "___ shreds" of all of them.

I have tears from laughing...

Thermionic goodness to you!

I can't rip Henry Kaiser style either, and if he can pre-hear that before he plays it that is amazing. It made me uncomfortable listening to it. I thought Howard's rhythm playing was good though.

If Henry tried one of mine clones he wouldn't need those cheesy effects to pull 'out there' ugly sounds
Maybe I should spend more time tweaking :D

He's probably the only guy around who can afford to have Dr D as a backing guitarist/tech, then to top it off make him suffer while he plugs in an effect that makes the amp 'squeal like a cut pig on heat'. Notice Dr D doesn't smile once. :?
