Hi , In the layout , a 22M res. is wired between the common poles of the PAB relay and the other resistor between the NC pole , in the schematic is different!
correct me if I'm wrong!

Nice work, Tony (as usual) and jaysg! The layout, schematic, and photo make a nice tidy package.

A couple of observations:

On the schematic the GNFB is connected to the 8-Ohm OT secondary tap, with the 4-Ohm tap NC. The layout has GNFB from the 4-Ohm tap.

The schematic shows a separate winding on the PT secondary for the bias supply, where the layout looks like it is taken from the usual tap on the HT winding.

The note on the schematic regarding the ground switch should be changed to say that a ground switch was included on the amp, but omitted here (the schematic), or alternatively, the schematic should be revised to include the ground switch, and keep the note as-is.

I do not understand the "(skip R48, R49)" below the note about the ground switch. I see that there is no R48 or R49 on the scematic, but what is this purpose of this note?

Alternate #183 schematic.

Post by mdroberts1243 »

Here's an alternate schematic that shows every feature so you can use it as a build 'check list'. I've deviated in the area of the footswitch since I have a Silk Road two-button that I want to use. Also, I plan to use 6CA7 tubes.

UPDATED: I forgot to adjust the dropping string and B+ voltages when adding the MOJO763

UPDATED AGAIN: 0v4 corrects the OD output feed resistor to the OD Volume (now 180K vs 100K formerly), corrects bias resistor network (some previous project values were in there), shows FET substitution and component values I used, and adds measured voltages for my build of the 183 with 6CA7 tubes.

OK the 22m resistors on the PAB have been corrected along w/ 1/2 power switch.. . ver 11 is up..
The schematic shows a separate winding on the PT secondary for the bias supply, where the layout looks like it is taken from the usual tap on the HT winding.
Martin
Take another gander bias supply on layout has it's own tap..

Yes, on the layout there is a tap on the HT winding, like the usual Fender PT. The schematic by jaysg, however, is showing a completely separate winding with its own ground for the bias supply. Mdroberts' version is correct in that detail, but I think a companion schematic that matches the layout exactly is a good thing to have.

Thanks for all the info and updates, guys! The PAB and R/J switch is the section of my latest build that I have had trouble getting wired and sounding right. This should get me home.

Schematic shows 100K on V2b should be 180K.

Good catch Tom! Comes from working with too-small printouts of the layout. I've updated the schematic posted above and included measured voltages from my build.

Thanks,
