Is there an ODS layout with an internal loop?

Post by Bob Simpson »

I've used the search, and looked through all the layout stickies I can find.

I've got a 4 noval 4 octal chassis, and I'd like to implement a dumbleator loop internal to the chassis.

Is there a layout for this type of amp available?

Thanks in advance.

Wow!

That drawing is 21" x 11.5"!

the only issue is that the bias to the input of the (output) stage of the loop will have to be adjusted to accomodate a large clean signal, w/o clipping one side of the waveform, if u have a scope it will make the job easy--

is this an easy adjustment without a scope?

it's not that easy to do and get right by ear, there is substantial discussion about this in the forum, it's a matter of picking a resistor pair that creates somewhere betw 25-30vdc as cathode bias for the
output stage. easy to see with a sine wave + a scope ----check this thread

I checked mine tonite and i have a 27k tail resistor -and it has +30vdc on the cathode. it passes all signals w/o any uneven clipping

Ok, I get what you are saying.

Yes, I remember when I built my dumbleator, the cathode follower cathode was supposed to be at around 30v.
