Carvin X-60A to clone project

Post by heisthl »

Nice size - a little wierd on the tube placement. I hope the transformers produce enough low end definition else I'll use Bassman type.

Updated above files - any comments, criticisms etc. welcome. Trying to use terminal strips for the FX loop and Reverb drive but it looks messy to me, should probably try and design an odd shaped eyelet board in that area. Reverb is based on a Prosonic. Thanks to all who have posted stuff in Visio format(and HiGain for the GIFs) - its so easy to use existing stuff as building blocks instead of starting from scratch.

It's a Celeston G12-65 (stock Carvin speaker for this amp) but I will probably choose something else after the build is done and I can compare speaker choices using the actual amp.

Here's a different approach layout, it has holes in the eyelet board for access tp the tubes. I'm feeling adventurous and think I'm going to try this.....

Finished - This amp makes it debut tonight at a local blues bar - the wires runs and some components were changed for more overtones

That's so cool it ought to be illegal! I've been tempted a few times to try a similar layout. You may have just put me over the edge!

I had a chance to hear that amp yesterday and it is very nice indeed. And SOOOOOOOO tiny.

And FWIW, Henry is a hell of a cook.

Thanks again H2.
